RUSSELL BRAND shocked a room full of elite university students by branding them “Harry Potter poofs”.

'You're Harry Potter poofs': Russell Brand’s student blast
The bad boy comic used the homophobic slur during a talk at Cambridge Union.
Brand, 38, urged the 800-strong audience to join his “sexy” revolution as he attacked politicians for “ripping people off”.
But the mood turned when he ordered the crowd to keep quiet, telling them: “Shut up, you Harry Potter poofs!”
Some were left stunned but others saw the funny side.
One tweeted: “Russell Brand telling a bunch of ‘Harry Potter poofs’ to start a revolution. Not bad for a Monday night.”
Another wrote: “Shut up, you Harry Potter poofs’ HAHAHHAA.”
There were more shocks during the debate as former junkie Brand glorified drugs and described heroin as “beautiful”.
He said: “I think drugs should be made completely legal and regulated. I think that people’s freedoms are their own business.
“When I took heroin for the first time it was beautiful.”
He also told students a “revolution is coming”, and did not rule out running for Parliament.
“We need to make it sexy, make it fun,” he said. “Give us something to vote for, then we will vote for it. Give us a system that is truly representative.”
Imogen Schon, president of Cambridge Union Society, said: “The event was a huge success.
“Russell entertained and enthralled a capacity audience, and we absolutely loved hearing his plans for the coming revolution.”
Previous speakers at the Union, founded in 1815, include Winston Churchill and the Dalai Lama.
